In Case You Missed it Because of the Holiday Rush, Congress Ended With a Bang! |

What a spectacular 6 weeks in Congress! Passage of Don't Ask, Don't Tell; extension of the middle class tax cuts and unemployment benefits (we know...that required a compromise);appointment of judges and other positions that had been held up in Congress; health benefits for 9/11 first responders; and ratification of the START treaty. The accomplishments are almost dizzying as we saw the good guys win for the American people. Have you ever been prouder to be a Democrat? We stood up for the heroes of 9/11 and the GOP finally did, but only after they were forced into a corner by Jon Stewart; we stood up for the unemployed and the middle class; we spoke for the patriots who serve in the military, regardless of their personal orientation; and we put the safety of America first and fought for ratification of START. We have a lot to be proud of and tout. Let's start touting. And don't worry...we'll get back to them on the Dream Act!
