Ladies, Let's Talk - February 2012Democratic women, let's get to know each other better. As a means of reaching out to Hanover Democratic women, HDC women are launching a program to meet monthly in a casual social setting. Our hopes are that these social times will facilitate our working together and will encourage non-member area Democratic women to become active with us. Our events will be strictly casual with no formal memberships, no agendas, no dues, no minutes. Our goal is to let this effort evolve as interested members desire. What will we call these get togethers? Coffee Chats? Coffee Breaks? Suggestions are welcome. Our first gathering will be at the home of Toni Radler, 309 Hillsway Drive in Ashland, at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 17. Carolyn Griffis and I will join Toni as hostesses. We urge all HDC women who are able to make a special effort to join us for this beginning. And we encourage everyone to bring a Democratic friend. Going forward, we hope to rotate meeting locations to other parts of the county and to rotate times from mornings to afternoons and evenings to make it possible for as many to participate as possible. I am happy to say that Dr. Therese May plans to host an after work get together in March in the Chickahominy District for our second meeting. We will have more information about that in our next newsletter. We are excited to be hearing much support for this new program from HDC members as well as some non-members. See you on February 17th!
