Early Voting started Friday, Sept. 20 and ends Nov. 2. You can vote at the Wickham Building at 7497 County Complex Road at the Hanover County complex from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. There are two early voting Saturdays, on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2.
On Election Day, Nov. 5, voting takes place at your regular polling place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you’re in line by 7 p.m., you get to vote.
Most of Hanover is in the 1st District. However, if you live in western Hanover, in the Beaverdam, Blunts, Montpelier, Rockville, South Anna or Wilmington Parrish precincts, you are likely in the 5th District. To check which district you are in, go to the I Will Vote website.
The sample ballots that we, the HDC, will be handing out for the 2024 elections and the official ones that the voters will vote on are similar except for differences in the Congressional race, with Leslie Mehta in the 1st District and Gloria Tinsley Witt in the 5th District. Look them over and familiarize yourself with them as sample ballots can be very important as voters go to the polls.
