The Pancake Breakfast was a huge success. So, many people RSVP’d that it seemed all the seats, and then some, would fill. And they did. Yet, we were still able to find room to bring in everyone who wanted to attend. Next year, we will find an even bigger venue. Let’s keep this momentum going!
To our great delight, five Democrats came forward at the Pancake Breakfast to discuss their plan to vote out Rob Wittman for U.S. House of Representative. If you would like to see their speeches you can click here.
These speeches are on YouTube.com in a list called "HVA Pancake Breakfast 2017." The candidates seeking the bid for the District 1 of Virginia are Tom Hicks, Edwin Santana, Ryan Sawyers, John Suddarth, and Vangie Williams,. Please take the time to watch and listen to their speeches. Due to the great work of Morgan Goodman and Cori Johnson, Hanover County has increased its Democratic vote by 7%.
If the momentum keeps growing strong, our next District 1 U.S. House of Representatives will be a Democrat. Then, we will flip the Delegates in 2020 and revamp our strong hold for the Presidential election. Hindsight is 20/20 for many Americans. But, we need for everyone to remain vigilant. Get to know the candidates running for office. Share your concerns with them, so that they can create a message that best represents who we are as human beings, as Democrats, and as Americans.
The next meeting of the Men's Forum will be held on Wednesday, January 24. Mark you calendars now. Speaker and location to be announced. The HDC Men's Forum has gotten off to a great start in 2017, thanks to Forum Chair Nelson Vaughan and Co -Chair Don Barth. More interesting speakers and good fellowship await in 2018.

For those who don't know, we are a growing group of Democratic women of all ages who meet monthly, sometimes in the day and sometimes in the evening, at the homes of volunteer hostesses at different locations around the county. Our goal is to enable as many women as possible to get to know and inspire one another so we can better work together. We have no formal programs, membership requirements or dues.
