Our April 2024 meeting of the Hanover Democratic Committee will give you a personal chance to get to know the candidates for the Democratic nomination in the 1st and 5th Congressional Districts. Following a brief business meeting, we will hear introductions from each of the candidates followed by a meet and greet.
Each will speak for a few minutes, and there also will be time to visit with them, pick up campaign literature, and find out more.
The forum will begin at 4 p.m. on April 14 at Around the Table, 155 Junction Drive, Ashland. Because of the nature of the meeting, we expect it will run a little longer than usual.
Most of Hanover is in the 1st District, where Leslie Mehta and Herb Jones are candidates.
Paul Riley of Crozet, Gloria Tinsley Witt of Amherst County, Gary Terry of Danville and Adam Maddeny are running in the Democratic primary for 5th District, which includes a part of western Hanover including the Beaverdam, Blunts, Montpelier, Rockville, South Anna, and Wilmington Parrish precincts. Forget your district? Check here.
The primary election is June 18.
Come to the meeting and see what you can do to elect a Democrat to Congress in 2024.
