Don't forget our monthly meeting this Saturday at 10 a.m. Our guest speakers will be James Parrish, Executive Director of Equality Virginia and Maggie Sacra, the chair of the LGBT Democrats of Virginia Caucus.
Election fever is rising to a pitch, especially since we are running our very own candidate, Toni Radler for the House of Delegates. The Hanover Democrats are turning out in big numbers to help Toni canvass and to make thousands of phone calls. If you haven't helped the campaign yet, please consider voluteering a few times before election day.
If ever we stand a chance of winning an upset victory, this is it!
And we are also pushing hard to break the 40 year taboo that Terry McAuliffee can't win this year. If McAuliffe wins, he will be the first Virginia governor elected from the sitting president’s party since Mills Godwin was elected in 1973, when Richard Nixon was in the White House. Also remarkably, should McAuliffe pull this off, it will be the first time since the 1880s that either party has been given just a single consecutive term in the Governor’s Mansion.
And let's not forget the importance of the Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General races. We have a lot of work to do to GOTV.
See you on Saturday and remember the coffee's on us.
