Rich Johnson, our HDC Treasurer, is excited to announce that he and his wife Jenn Johnson will be hosting the Hanover Democratic Committee Fall Picnic on Saturday, September 19th from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. This will be a great opportunity for members and their families to come together for an afternoon of food, fun, fellowship, and to kick off the fall campaign season. The picnic will be a potluck, and will also include games and activities for children, friendly competitions for best dessert and best appetizer, and plenty of time to visit, reconnect, and build excitement for the busy campaign season ahead. This event is open and will be held at 6127 Shady Woods Lane, Mechanicsville, VA 23111. Parking and shuttle information will be provided.
Just in case you are not currently a member of the Hanover Democratic Committee, every two years everyone is required by the Democratic Party of Virginia to renew their membership. If you have not filled out a new membership form and paid dues and were not voted in at the reorganization meeting in December, then you are not currently a HDC member in the 2026/2027 term. Please remember you do not have to be a member to volunteer for the committee or attend our meetings–we appreciate all volunteers–but only members have voting privileges and can serve on our Executive Committee. Also, the dues go toward supporting our Democratic candidates. You can join by going to our web site, hvadems.com and clicking on the join button then the donate button, or come to one of our meetings and fill out a paper membership form and pay your dues then.
