Our next meeting will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 9 at Around the Table/RVA, 155 Junction Drive, Ashland. We will be having a mini-Women’s History Month of sorts. That is because we will hear from three strong women. State Sen. Ghazala Hashmi is running for the lieutenant governor nomination and is scheduled to appear. She represents SD-15, which includes parts of Richmond and Chesterfield County. We also will hear from Shannon Taylor, the Commonwealth Attorney in Henrico, who is running for the attorney general nomination. Finally, we will hear from Pat Hunter-Jordan, who is president of the Hanover NAACP. This will be particularly timely during the Trump assault on civil rights. You can learn more about the Hanover NAACP at its website.
There will also be several campaigns there giving updates and circulating their petitions to get on the Democratic primary ballot. We encourage all of our members and supporters to come and help the Democratic candidates to get on the ballot.
