After 48 short years in the Virginia General Assembly, State Senator Dick Saslaw of Fairfax has announced that he does not plan to seek re-election. From DPVA Chairwoman Susan Swecker: "Senator Dick Saslaw has been a steadfast presence throughout my career in Virginia politics. He’s not only been a source of incredible strength, intellect, and integrity, but a deep well of wit, wisdom, and humor. I have the high honor of calling him a close friend and mentor, and I look forward to continuing the fight to preserve the legacy of his progress in the Virginia Senate."
