The Beaverdam BBQ ... A Great Success.

The Beaverdam Democratic Barbecue, sponsored by the Women's Coffee and the Men's Forum, resulted in what has been called the largest gathering of Democrats in Beaverdam in 40 years. More than 100 people brought their great energy and chairs to the beautiful home and grounds of Deb & Darren Jacobs on Shiloh Church Rd, and enjoyed great food from Jake's Place. Sen. Jennifer McClellan was the featured speaker, along with our 55th District House Candidate Morgan Goodman.

Thank you to all who made this BBQ possible, especially: Deb and Darren Jacobs, Allen and Diane Neergaard, Nelson Vaughan, Donna and Don Barth, Mary and Jon Knight, Caroline Cooke, Tom Hicks, Natalie Hartwig, June Borher, Gordon Silver, Daniel McGraw and Betsy Farley.

"It's hard to be a Democrat in Beaverdam.  It's hard to be a Democrat in Rockville.  It's hard to be a Democrat in Doswell.  It's hard to be a Democrat in Elmont and in South Anna. In the rural areas, you feel like you are out there all alone. There are a lot of Democrats in the rural areas but we tend to keep a low profile because of the vociferous Tea Party. But we are not alone. That's why we came out together... remember, we are stronger together," HDC Chair Toni Radler.
