On Sunday, July 12th at 4pm The Gathering Place at RVA Around the Table (155 Junction Drive). Our special topic for the July 12th meeting is immigration rights with a focus on the Latino community. It will be a panel discussion with special guests: Monica Sarmiento (Executive Director, Virginia Coalition for Immigration Rights), Juan Santacoloma (Multicultural Outreach Specialist, Chesterfield County School District), Lyons Sanchezconcha (Executive Director, Sacred Heart Center), Alex Guzman (Hanover County resident and member on the Governor’s Latino Advisory Board), and Carla Bustillos (President of the Democratic Latino Organization of Virginia). Each guest brings a different perspective to the topic.
Our HDC’s own Aida Pacheco will be moderating the discussion. If there’s time at the end of the meeting, Aida has promised to give us a salsa lesson! We will also have yard signs available at our meeting from the No on Wittman, Mark Warner, Factocracy, and various Democratic Congressional Primary campaigns.
