Our next meeting of the Hanover Democratic Committee will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Around the Table, 155 Junction Drive in the Rose’s Shopping Center in Ashland. There will be no HDC meeting in December.
It will be good to get back together after the holidays, reflect on where we are and concentrate on regaining the three statewide offices as well as holding the Senate and House of Delegates. Because there are so few off-year elections, what happens in Virginia takes on national importance. So we will have a chance to show the country how Virginia’s Democratic candidates are ready to lead.
In that vein, we’ll hear from special guest speaker Harry Khanna. Harry is a member of the Democratic National Committee, one of Virginia’s five representatives on the DNC’s governing board. He’s a small business lawyer, a software engineer and an Eagle Scout. Harry formerly served on the DNC’s voter protection staff in an engineering role and has volunteered as a voter protection lawyer. He holds a law degree from Columbia Law School and an advanced engineering degree from The Johns Hopkins University. Harry will re-introduce himself to our committee, explain his role with the DNC, give a quick Election 2024 debriefing, provide updates and his perceptions and insights so far from the DNC, and talk about what role the DNC versus DPVA will play in the 2025 elections here in Virginia.
