Our next Hanover Democratic Committee meeting will be on Sunday, Oct. 13 and come prepared to work. This will be our first HDC Day of Action. Instead of a traditional meeting, we’ll be gathering starting at 1:00 p.m. at our regular spot, The Gathering Place at RVA/Around the Table, 155 Junction Drive, Ashland.
We will host A Day of Action with the Virginia Victory Coordinated Campaign. We will have opportunities of all kinds for you to participate in and help our candidates – Vice President Kamala Harris for President, Tim Kaine for Senate, and Leslie Mehta for Congress in the 1st District and Gloria Witt in the 5th District.
Among our activities, we will be:
• Launching canvassers to knock doors in Hanover
• Making phone calls on site to Hanover voters
• Writing postcards (bring postage or money for postage)
• Handing out signs
• Signing up and training poll greeters
Plus, we’ll have drinks and snacks. Registration is not required but a link where you can sign up will be sent out as soon as we have it.
For November and December, we’re going to take a much-needed break, and instead will host a Post-2024 Election Appreciation & Pre-2025 Election Anticipation Celebration at 2:00 pm on Sunday, Nov. 17 at the home of Wendy and Michael Brooks at 6034 Grapevine Bridge Drive in Cold Harbor. More information to come; let’s focus on what we need to do first.
