You can also pick up signs at our next meeting, which will be a Day of Action, from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Gathering Place at RVA Around the Table, 155 Junction Drive, Ashland. If your sign is stolen, report it to the police on the non-emergency lines (Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and Ashland Police Department: 804-365-6140), make sure a police report is taken, and let us know what happened so we can follow up.

Postcard writing: Join us at the Atlee Library (9212 Rutlandshire Dr,. Mechanicsville) from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 to write postcards to Hanover and swing state voters. Vote Early: Early Voting in Virginia started on Friday, Sept. 20 and the Hanover Democratic Committee wants you to vote early on day 1 from 9 .m. to 5 p.m. Registered voters in Hanover should vote at the Wickham Building (7497 County Complex Road). Unregistered voters should come and register. The HDC will have a booth with information, campaign swag and snacks.
Early Voting Poll Greeters Needed: From Friday, Sept. 20 through Saturday, Nov. 2, we need you to help us greet voters at the Early Voting polling place in Hanover County. The Hanover Democratic Committee will have a booth each day of Early Voting at the Wickham Building (7497 County Complex Rd.), from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, with two early voting Saturdays, on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. You’ll be greeting voters, letting them know about our candidates and our committee and handing out sample ballots. Sign up here. When you complete and submit the commitment form at the end, make sure you choose Hanover for “Location Preference” and when asked “Which locality recruited you to serve as a poll observer?” as we, the HDC, are assigning you the location). State Fair: The VALGBT Dems are once again having a Democratic booth at the State Fair in Doswell from Friday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 6. Colleen, our LGBTQ Caucus Chair, wants as many of us as possible to sign up for at least a shift. It’s a great way to let your fellow citizens know about our Democratic candidates,. You get a free ticket and parking to the fair to enjoy before or after your shift. Sign up here.
Phone Banks: Every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., join our friends with the Henrico Democrats to make calls to 1st Congressional District voters out of the RVA Coordinated Campaign office. Sign up here (location will be provided upon registration) and make sure to request a call list of Hanover voters.
Every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., join the Virginia Victory Coordinated Campaign in Virginia’s 5th District to make phone calls to CD-05 voters. Sign up here.
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., join the VADems Coordinated Campaign for their statewide phone bank using their super fast and efficient auto-dialer. We are calling every voter in the Commonwealth to make sure they are supporters of Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, Tim Kaine, and every Democrat in Virginia. No previous experience is required. Tuesday, Oct. 15: Last day for voter registration (check your voting status or register to vote here). Voters may register after this date at the Hanover registrar’s office or on Election Day at their regular polling place through Election Day, and vote using a provisional ballot.
Friday, Oct. 25: 5 p.m. deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you.
Saturday, Oct. 26: First early voting Saturday
Saturday, Nov. 2: Last day of early voting
Tuesday, Nov. 5: Election Day
