TAKE ACTION NOW !
Take Action Now is a call from the Hanover Democratic Committee to preserve our democracy in these challenging times. Join us in taking these simple actions on the local, state and national levels.
Early voting helps our candidates. Once you have voted, they no longer keep you on their Get Out the Vote list to send you mailers and phone calls. This allows them to focus their resources on others who haven’t yet voted.
A. Vote early in person! Early voting runs from September 16 to October 31.
B. Early Voting Hours at the Wickham Building
7497 County Complex Road, Hanover, VA 23069
• Monday-Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Saturdays: October 24 & 31: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Sundays: October 18 & 25: 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
C. Register to vote here:
Virginia Dept of Elections Citizen Portal.
October 23 is the last day to register to vote or make changes either in person by 5 p.m. or online by 11:59 p.m.
A. Poll greeting is fun! Our voters feel safer and more comfortable when they see friendly faces at the Democratic table at early voting. There are lots of unfilled shifts for early voting.
B. Follow our candidates on social media. This is the fastest and cheapest way to help! If you “Follow” and “Like” our candidates’ social media posts, the algorithm will share their posts with more users helping to spread their message further. “Follow” Shannon Taylor, Tom Perriello, Elaine Luria, Beth Macy, Joy Powers, and Eugene Vindman.
C. Phonebank from home with the Mobilize tool. While you are on the Mobilize site, check out other volunteer opportunities for canvassing and phonebanking.
D. Contribute if you can. Republicans have vigorous and viscous ad campaigns against both Hanover candidates for Congress. Help them fight back by giving to Shannon Taylor and Tom Perriello.

I am hopeful that our elected officials will review every pathway forward to defend the outcome of our fair election. The Virginia Supreme Court should not be able to overturn the will of the people. In the meantime, Hanover Dems, Let’s Get To Work! Now, more than ever, we are fighting to save our Democracy! We all need to stand up and fight back by making our voices heard, and do everything possible to get our Democratic Candidates elected in November. We have less than six months before the midterm elections. We don’t have time to sit back and lick our wounds.
I am proud of our Committee and the work we did to WIN the Vote YES election on April 21st. And I’ll be even prouder when we flip CD-01 and CD-05 and send Wittman and McGuire packing!
