Hanover County is divided between the 1st and 5th Congressional Districts. The 1st District representative is Rob Wittman and the 5th District representative is Bob Good.
Most of Hanover is in the 1st District except the following precincts that are in the 5th District:
Three precincts in the Beaverdam magisterial district: Beaverdam, Blunts, Wilmington Parish.
Three precincts in the South Anna magisterial district: Montpelier, Rockville, South Anna
